Share Your Story to Stop Evictions and Seal Eviction Records.
Housing stability, quality, safety, and affordability all have an impact on our health.
Still, Florida has the second highest eviction risk rate across the country. Over the first two months of 2021, 15.6% of Florida renters were at risk of eviction compared to a national risk of eviction rate of 8.4%.
In 2022, Florida legislators can help address housing insecurity by passing laws to:
-
Provide additional resources and support for those at risk of eviction;
-
Remove the requirement for the tenant to deposit money owed during eviction proceedings into the court registry; and
-
Allow for defendants to move to seal their eviction record if the court finds they were adversely affected by COVID-19.
