How We Collect Stories

We take a storyteller-centered approach that allows people to share their story however they feel most comfortable.

Interview options include:

  • FVH will coordinate an in-person visit to your facility to capture high quality footage of interviews with staff, volunteers, patients, and anyone willing to give a testimonial for your organization.

  • We can also capture interviews through a computer or smart device, over the telephone, or in writing through text, email, or social media.

  • Interviews are typically 30 minutes or less.

  • Storytellers are provided with gift cards as stipends for their time and expertise. We also provide travel assistance for storytellers.

  • Storytellers are typically identified by first name, initial of last name, and county. They can also use a pseudonym or remain anonymous.

  • After interviews are conducted, storytellers have a chance to review and edit the narrative.

  • Community resources are provided or referrals are made if applicable.
