"They Treated Me Like A Friend": ACA Navigators Help Home Health Aide Find Health Coverage in Florida

When N.A. relocated from New Jersey to Florida last year, she lost her health insurance. She visited the Tampa Family Resource Center and the ACA Navigators for help. “I didn’t know where to turn, but the coordinator at the center guided me through the process.”

In New Jersey, N.A. had been employed as a Certified Home Health Aide for over 15 years, but found it difficult to get the certification needed to work in Florida. The Resource Center and her ACA Navigator not only helped her find affordable health coverage, but also assisted her in finding a free training course that led to her obtaining her Florida certification.

“We need more people like them,” N.A. says. “Some families have it hard right now, and this resource has supported this community and myself in facing difficulties to get back on my feet again. They made me feel like a friend.”

The ACA and its Navigators across the state of Florida are assisting individuals like N.A. to find affordable coverage enabling them to receive the care they need to lead healthier lives. Get free assistance from a qualified local Florida Navigator at: www.coveringflorida.org.
