Report: Florida A Big Loser Under Latest ACA Repeal Plan

A new analysis from Avalere finds that the Graham-Cassidy-Heller-Johnson (GCHJ) bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) would lead to a reduction in federal funding to states by $215B through 2026 and more than $4T over a 20-year period.

Under the Graham-Cassidy proposal, in 2026 alone Florida will receive $2.691 billion less federal health care dollars than under current law. This is the combined cut from the per capita cap of Medicaid and the block granting of marketplace subsidies.

In 2027 alone Florida will receive $17.8 billion less than under current law. This is the combined cut from the per capita cap and the block grant going away in that year.
